We spent 4 hours assembling this bed 3 months ago. The weight limit is listed at 180 lbs. My husband, who weighs 175 climbed in to lie with our son and one of the slats supporting the mattress broke. So after that when my husband got into that bed he had to hold both side rails so as not to put too much pressure on any one slat. Last night when he did that the side rail, on the side with the slide and ladder, collapsed. Fortunately he only has a small cut from the splintered wood at the top of the ladder. It could have been much worse. The bed is not usable.

On a better note, we purchased it from hayneedle.com and they responded fantastically. Within 18 hours of writing to inform them of what happened, they advised me to dispose of the bed (rather than going through the trouble of shipping it back) and they credited me the entire amount. Wow. That kind of customer service is rare.
