Only one of two boxes arrived. The customer service number (for Prepac Manufacturing) on the instructions in the one box we did get was no longer working. The parts we did receive were very scratched up and in poor condition. I ended up contacting Amazon to return the item (try repacking all the parts in a very large, heavy, damaged box…). Definitely do not recommend.

This bed is well priced, nice looking and functional. However, while we were putting it together some peices of partical board broke off around where the screws went. Fortunatly the breaks are on the inside of the bed so they can’t be seen, but it does weaken the frame. One more thing is to make sure you have a thin matress to go on the top as the head and foot boards are rather low.

This bed is great, so is the storage, but almost every edge had some scratches and a small gash in the foot board that I can’t hide with a black sharpie. The packing is better for Ikea products, most of the pieces were paint on paint and not protected, by the time it got to California, it looked a little traveled in the box. This company needs to rethink their packing to protect a good product.

I was impressed with the quality and design of the frame (and the well written instructions) up until I got to the assembly of the drawers. The materials were cheap (one piece broke during assembly), the design was poor (you have to use nails) and the craftsmanship of the pre-drilled holes was shoddy (nothing fit particularly well and the holes were unfinished with lots of chipping and splinters). It is as if the frame and drawers were provided by to entirely different companies.

I originally bought this bed for my 4 year old son….He loved it. I just ordered the same bed for my 13 year old son not even a month later. A lot of pieces but worth the time. Tons of storage. I highly recommend this item.

We ordered two of these beds for our daughters’ room. They are just what we needed! The girls love them and the storage is great. While a bit time consuming to put together, my husband had no trouble. Not real wood, but they do seem sturdy.

Very useful storage space. Putting it together was pretty straightforward but time consuming (I was by myself). Once you get the tracks on it is actually really easy to disassemble/reassemble if you need to move. Customer service for the product was good too, I lost my allen wrench and the directions, and they emailed me a digital copy.

The concept for this bed is good (attractive bed with lots of storage). The execution is sub-par at best. I purchased the bed for my daughter’s bedroom that has limited space for a dresser. The bed arrived in damaged condition, not entirely due to the poor packaging, but partially due to the fact that the materials are just plain cheap. Most of the wood is thin and many panels are pressboard laminate or plywood rather than actual wood. If you over tighten a screw on the drawer panels (even by hand) the wood will split. (The wood reminds me of a Balsa Wood model airplane). The bed took approximately 5 hours to assemble over two evenings. I used a power screwdriver to speed up the process. I’m not a novice at assembly, I’ve assembled numerous pieces of furniture, and even remodeled a house from top to bottom. The assembly of this product was time consuming to say the least. The assembly instructions are not complex, however, the pieces are not marked in anyway to correspond with the instructions. This leaves you guessing at which piece the instructions refer to and trying to disseminate which piece of hardware is appropriate. If I hadn’t put so much time and effort into assembling the product, I would absolutely send it back. It is a poor quality product that is difficult to put together.

I purchased this bed and found that it was easy to assemble. It took me an afternoon to assemble, but the instructions are clear. There are a good number of screws, as I expected. So a power screwdriver is a plus but not a necessity. You will also need a small hammer for some small nails that keep the bottom of the drawers from sliding back. The shipment came in two boxes. One is about 90 lbs, so you will need help moving it. The contents are well packed but one of my boxes was damaged during shipment which resulted some minor damage to the headboard. I called Prepac (on a Saturday) and was greeted by an employee who is shipping a replacement part free since the product comes with a 5 year warranty. The bed is made of composite wood (which I expected) and the bed is well engineered. I recommend assembling the bed reasonably close to where it will be used as possible. The only difficulty I had was making sure that the bolts attaching the headboard to the frame were not cross threaded. If a bolt starts to offer excessive resistance after a few turns, remove it and try again or reverse the JNR (nut)and try again. The bolt should go in most of the way using your fingers. I was able to avoid more serious problems by doing this. The bed is heavy so don’t expect to pushed it around easily on carpet. My son loves the bed and it has a large amount of storage space saving space in his room. The drawers open and close fine and are on metal sliders. It takes a standard twin size mattress and is more attractive than it appears in the photo. I shopped for this bed on the internet and found it selling for several hundred dollars more (yes it was the very same bed) and I saved a bundle on the free shipping.
