My son (3 years old) really loved this bedding with all the trains, planes and trucks on it. My only negative is that the description didn’t show where the item was made. I don’t like to buy things Made in China but had to take a gamble on this since it didn’t say. Sure enough, when I got the item that is the first thing I checked and is was Made in China.
The Olive Kids design was a hit with my 2yr old son. It has bright colors and is perfect for kids.
My 3 year old grandson just loves his new comforter for his “Big Boy” bed. He now calls it his “Train Bed”. It’s very well made and I was suprised by how soft it was.
This quilt is cheap acrylic and made in China. It smells awful when you take it out of the bag. It does not look high quality. I returned it immediately.
I bought the Olive Kids Trains, Planes, & Trucks Comforter nearly one year ago for my sweaty two year old son. I didn’t want to shell out $60 on something he’d only pee and puke on, but I couldn’t find any other 100% cotton comforters besides the ones by Olive Kids. I can honestly say that this comforter has been washed at least 35 times. Yes, the colors have faded slightly. However, the fabric is now nice and soft (it was stiff when we bought it) and the batting has not shifted. Let me repeat that — THE BATTING HAS NOT SHIFTED. There are no threads unraveling, the dog’s nails haven’t punched any holes in it, nothing is coming apart, etc. I no longer begrudge spending $60. If you can afford it, buy it.
These are really cute and work great for kids beds. It seems well made with bright colors, good stitching, and has lasted for ~8 washings without any signs of fading or the like.
Note that the sheets are not going to be your 5000 thread count Egyptian long staple cotton 🙂 They are, however, just fine for normal kids!!
Anyone who has a toddler knows that they hate tags. I cut tags out of all shirts/pants/etc that my 4.5 year old has. This comforter is great – I have the matching sheet set and the wall paper cut outs. The only flaw is that the tag is on the TOP next to his head. Not sure why but I just was VERY careful to cut the tag off without cutting the comforter. No big deal.
I’ve made the mistake of buying “100% soft cotton percale” (210 thread count says OK site) sheets, including two sets from Olive Kids. My son loved the patterns, but despite my washing them with fabric softener and dryer softener sheets, he still complains “these sheets are scrtachy and hurt me”. Maybe its the printing. They’ve been washed about 5 times now and I’ve taken to using a white jersey pillowcase to protect his face. I hope OK upgrades their thread count, but from now on, I’m NEVER buying percale. My son is three and doesn’t normally complain about fabric.
We bought this set 3 years ago when our son (who had just turned 2) needed to move to a big-boy bed). He loves anything that goes, especially trains and firetrucks. We have 2 of these for his bunk beds and they are still in like new condition, despite at least 25 washes. There are no tears, stains, hanging threads, or any signs of wear whatsoever. The comforter is fairly flat, not plush, but that means no pilling when you wash it. I bought them for comforters, not for blankets, but he stays warm in frigid MN with the sheet, comforter, and a fleece blanket. The colors are vibrant, even after 3 years, the designs are cute but will last him until he’s 10, if he chooses.
The entire collection is fabulous and we are impressed with them all! We have the wall border, appliques (I put those on a white trash can, red tissue box cover, and each fan blade), sheets, pillows, and pillowcases. I bought an airplane shelf from CL, 3 hanging model airplanes, and a light switch cover from that auction site to complete the room. We get compliments on it all the time and–most importantly–our son (now 5) LOVES his room!
The material has a very synthetic feel to it. Not very soft, and lacking in quality. We returned it and found another product that was cheaper and much better.
