This review is for Kaplan Toys, rather then the step stool. I placed my order on the 9th of September, and started querying the lack of status updates around the 16th. They took 24 hours to respond with: We’ve contacted the maker of the stool. I asked again for an update on the status, and got no response, until Amazon sent me an automatically generated message saying that the order still had not shipped on the 20th of September. I’m just very disappointed that it takes them more than 12 days to get back to you with a sensible response…

I have now purchased it through another retailer…

This little bench is really cute and painted nicely. It has good space beneath the lift up top. I gave it as a gift, so I can’t comment on how it will hold up/function. I have to comment that it was nearly impossible to assemble. They give you a tiny allen wrench which was difficult to hold and turn. Even worse, the screws were too big for the holes. I am experienced in assembling things and this was not an easy one. I worked on it for over an hour and couldn’t get one screw fully in. I finally had to get someone else to help me.

We bought this step stool to help our toddler son get into his captain’s bed. The design is adorable, and he loves to see the animals. It was a bit of a nuisance to put together, but is very sturdy once completed. (I consider myself a decent hand at assembling items, and this took me an hour with hand tools) We have a smaller house, so every little bit of storage helps. Our son likes to hide things in the “treasure box”. I am pleased this turned out so well.

I bought this step stool for my 22 month old daughter, because other kid step stools were not high or study enough….and because it was beautiful and my child loves animals! She uses this step stool to reach the sink. It’s great for potty training, because she can wash her hands with minimal help. She stores books in the storage area. I sit on the top step when she’s using the potty, which can take a while sometimes, and we read books. She also likes to sit on the bottom step and read books for pleasure when she’s not sitting on the potty.

I took away one star, because it’s not all wood. Some of the panels are….I don’t know what, but very cheap material. Also, one of the screws was too long and it nearly punched through the top step when I assembled it. In addition, the storage area is only the capacity of the top step.

I was skeptical about buying this product after reading one review saying how difficult it was to put together, but I went ahead and purchase the step stool because it matched so perfectly to what I was looking for in the kid’s bathroom. It came to my door quicker than Amazon estimated and I tore into the packaging to get the stool together. Took me 5 minutes! It was one of the easiest assemblies I’ve dealt with. Yes, I had an electric screwdriver but it was not a necessity. It was so easy and the finished product is so cute! I have a 2 and 3 year old that can now reach the bathroom sink to brush their teeth. They don’t fit on it together, (too much pushing and shoving) but I prefer it that way. There is enough room for storage of potty time books or the occasional bath toy stowaway.

This step stool is great. We have high countertops in the bathroom and my little kids can’t reach the faucet to wash their hands without help. I had a short one-step plastic stool and they still couldn’t reach it, so I got this and it is perfect! It is sturdy and the little compartment is cute. The paintings look very nice and overall it was very easy to put together. It probably only took me about 10 minutes total to put it together. Very easy and it works exactly how I wanted it to. The colors online look very true in real life.

Sturdy and beautiful step stool. We use it so my daughter can get into her twin bed more easily. She stores her dress up clothes in it. We keep another one in the bathroom for reaching the sink and it stores books.
