This product it really well made, and colorful. My only regret is I wish the comforter was a bit wider. It only bearly falls over the sides of the bed.
We bought this for our 1-year-old son, because we were going to do a space theme in his room for Christmas. I got them today, thinking I would have time to wash them before we gave them to him so that he could use them right away. When I took them out, they were stiff as the other reviewers said, and had a chemical smell. My husband and I thought they would improve in the wash, so I put them in. One wash later, and they feel like burlap. Seriously, for $65, you aren’t expecting dollar-store quality. Now, since we can’t send them back, the only thing to do is try to wash and wash them with fabric softener to see if they will soften up. These were so terrible, they made me itch taking them from the dryer to my bedroom to fold them. That’s terrible for a little one’s bedding. Save your money. I wish I had. What a rip-off.
The elastic in the fitted sheet is no longer elastic! They must have used cheap elastic for these very expensive sheets..I am disappointed it didn’t last longer..but is it cute? Totally! I will just have to re-sew new elastic in it myself…:(
I bought only the comforter and am generally satisfied with it. It’s very cute and will grow with my son (he’s 3 now). However, the comforter is very stiff and a bit scratchy. Also, it was sold as “full/queen” but is a bit short and narrow even on my son’s full size bed so I wouldn’t recommend that size for a queen bed. I washed it and it came out so wrinkled from the dryer that I spent a half hour ironing it to get it looking decent. It still has some wrinkle marks that seem to actually be changes to the pigment of the print — not sure if that will come out the next time I wash it. They are not too noticeable so I don’t mind that so much, but for the cost compared to some others I expected more. I can’t see my son using this as a blanket at least not til he’s a little older as it’s so stiff and not cuddly at all. The print does go great with Toy Story Buzz Lightyear accessories since the colors are very similar — a Buzz pillow, a Toy Story plush blanket, and a Toy Story pillow case. He’s very into Buzz right now but I didn’t want a character comforter — we’re going for an outer space theme that can grow with him when he gets tired of Buzz. I’m glad I didn’t get the matching sheets after reading reviews that they are scratchy — got the blue “Splash Sheet Set” from JC Penney’s and it’s a great match of color and style and they are nice and soft. I think the Lime Green color will be a great match too. Got them on sale for $40 (full size) – normal price is $70.
We received this set as a gift for our one year old son and immediately loved it. He doesn’t know it yet, but he loves it.
Anyway, there are some issues that I feel should be addressed as a forewarning for others interested in this set.
We had a little trouble fitting the fitted sheet around his crib mattress, which is of normal thickness, and the comforter is very light-weight. In the colder months, I don’t trust it to keep our son warm, so I wrap him in a second blanket.
I think this set is really only good for a themed room and is unfortunately not the quality I would have expected from the cost of this item since I’ve purchased a bed-in-a-bag for a king-sized bed for about the same price with better results and quality.
Overall, my recommendation stands to buy this only if you’ve got an “Out of This World” themed room and don’t mind using a second blanket in the cold months for your little one.
Would have been better to tell the buyers that product for baby No kids Or inform at least the age specified for the use of , I bought 2 product to my children and They are over the age of 6 years.
